What’s New in Report AL Enhancements in Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 (v26)

In this blog post, we’ll explore the top changes and new features introduced in the AL reporting landscape for 2025 from MS announcement event. 

Let’s dive into what’s new and how you can start using these enhancements today!

1. Obsolete layout property
2. ExcelLayoutMulipleDataSheets (Layout level)

When setting ExcelLayoutMulipleDataSheets on the your layout instead of the Report itself, only your layout affected by this change.

Validate Layout and Show Layout info

In the Report Layout page, there are two new actions button.

*"Validate Layout" only validate RDLC in this release v26.0

When click on new report you have an option to Create Multiple Data Sheets

Make it easier to work with Word layout

Let add a new Word layout

Now export the layout - open the layout and go to the Developer tab and open XML Mapping Pane - there are now two new properties are added

1. ReportMetadata
2. ReportRequest

To test this, I added a few data items to the layout

Imported this layout in and run it
