E-Document Enhancements in Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025: Smarter, Faster, More Compliant

With the 2025 release of Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft continues to elevate digital transformation—and this time, E-Documents are getting a some features update. As regulatory requirements evolve and businesses demand more automation, the latest improvements make electronic document handling more robust, intuitive, and compliant than ever before.

From improved integrations and streamlined workflows to expanded localization support and better error handling, the new E-Document features are designed to help you stay ahead of legal mandates while saving time and reducing manual effort.

The 'Buyer Reference' may be mandatory depending on your localization — review your country-specific e-document rules.




Two new connectors are added


*Continia, and ForNAV will be added in the future 26.2

Different countries have different e-invoicing standards: PDF in some regions, XML in others.


In the previous version, this feature was enabled by default, and Business Central would automatically attempt to create the document. In the 2025 release, users now have the option to disable automatic creation and review the document manually before it’s generated.



New feature: Embedded attachment in the XML export - for example go to posted sales invoice (see below in the Document Logs)


On the Document Logs, click on Exported Log


In the export XML file, there is an attachment tag


Extended E-Doc with new interface
